You know you’re dealing with a high-level MMA event when seven of the 11 bouts on the card are catchweights. That’s how things shook out at the Bellator 129 weigh-ins yesterday in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Originally, there were supposed to be just three catchweight bouts scheduled on the prelims (which is still kind of a lot), and Virgil Zwicker was given a pass to hit 215 pounds in his main card fight against Houston Alexander; Zwicker was a late replacement for James Thompson.
But then, tragedy struck: Lightweight Kevin Morris came in three pounds over, bantamweight Chris Lane came in 4.5 pounds over (!), welterweight Marcos Marquez came in 7.4 pounds over (!!!), and — the grand finale — a 152-pound catchweight women’s bout between Holly Lawson and Jozette Cotton had to be changed to a 168-pound catchweight because Cotton showed up waaaaaay heavy. The women didn’t even weigh-in with everybody else, possibly due to shame.
Anyway, if you want to see what a welterweight women’s fight looks like (!?), and you’re still interested in UFC where-are-they-nows like Joe Vedepo and Josh Neer, tune in to Bellator tonight! Full Bellator 129 weigh-in results are below. If you need us, we’ll be updating the leaderboard.

The fighters competing at tomorrow night’s UFC 165: Jones vs. Gustafsson event will be weighing-in today at Maple Leaf Square, outside the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. You can watch the action live in the player above beginning at 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT, and we’ll have full results after the jump when it’s all over. Our prediction: Jon Jones will unveil a humiliating photoshop of Alexander Gustafsson, using the pic he snapped during yesterday’s media faceoff. I’m telling you, the champ’s mind games are next-level.

Polley’s weight wasn’t even announced publicly — WSOF officials only said that he was “significantly over” the contracted weight and removed him from the bout — but MMAJunkie’s John Morgan got the actual number from an event source. By the way, Polley missing weight by 32 pounds puts him at #1 on the Weigh-In Failure Leaderboard, destroying the old record of 23.75. Polley has already apologized on twitter, although he didn’t offer an explanation as to what went wrong.
Tomorrow night’s event was supposed to be Polley’s WSOF debut, and it’s unlikely that the promotion will have him back. Fortunately, Polley’s scheduled opponent Hans Stringer was paid his show money. The full WSOF 4 weigh-in results are after the jump, in case you’re curious.

The prelims, however, were a friggin’ nightmare. We’ll go from most crazy to least crazy:
– Featherweight knockout-machine Veronica Rothenhausler has been pulled from the event after being declared medically unfit to compete. According to reports on the scene, Rothenhausler passed out due to a bad weight cut and had to be hospitalized. Needless to say, her fight against Mollie Estes was canceled. Get well soon, Veronica.
– Former strawweight Livia Von Plettenberg’s attempt to drop down to atomweight was botched to a Anthony Johnson-esque degree. Von Plettenberg weighed in at 113 pounds for her 105-pound contest against Cassie Robb, and since there was no way she’d be able to drop seven pounds on short notice, that fight has been removed from the card as well. Cripes. Will Invicta have to pull random women from the crowd in order to fill out the lineup? Because I’d totally watch that. UPDATE:Kathina “Kill Switch” Catron has stepped in on a day’s notice to fight Von Plettenberg at 125 pounds.

– Ediane Gomes was originally scheduled to face Tamikka Brents at a catchweight of 150 pounds, after Brents took the fight on three days’ notice as an injury replacement for Charmaine Tweet. Brents showed up today weighing 155.1 pounds. Invicta and Gomes threw their hands up and decided that the fight would still proceed at lightweight.
– Ashley Cummins and Emily Kagan actually hit the strawweight limit. Yes, both of them. Amazing.
