The Ultimate Fighting Championship continued to roll on with it’s efforts to shed one-hundred fighters from it’s roster.
Lightweight fighter, and TUF: The Smashes finalist, Colin ‘Freakshow’ Fletcher (8-3) is the latest casualty to fall under the axe as the Brit announced the news that he’d been cut on Twitter (@dr_freakshow) on Monday.
– Is it just me or does cut after 1 official UFC fight seam a little harsh I know I didn’t perform my best ! Neva mind pic.twitter.com/Wn8jWcfp4t
– wasn’t unexpected just thought I wasn’t the most boring of the guys who lose n don’t get cut !
Fletcher lost in the TUF: The Smashes finale last December and despite losing by decision to Norman Parke at UFC on FX 6 was awarded a contract by the UFC. ‘Freakshow’ then went on to face Mike Ricci last month in Montreal at UFC 158 and would go on to lose that bout by decision as well.
Those back-to-back losses would spell the end for Fletcher who entered the UFC on a four fight win streak.
The Brit will certainly return to the local circuit in the United Kingdom.
