Bryan Caraway
A late change to this weekends UFC 159: Jones vs. Sonnen event has forced bantamweight Erik Perez (13-4) off this weekends upcoming card.
Stepping in for Perez will be TUF 14 fighter Bryan ‘Kid Lightning’ Caraway (17-6) who takes on ‘Brutal’ Johnny Bedford (19-9-1) at the New Jersey event.
Perez was forced out due to a leg infection.
The promotion confirmed the news with this Tweet (@UFC) on Monday.

UFC 159: Jones vs. Sonnen is scheduled to take place this weekend (April 27, 2013) at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones will defend his title against current contender Chael Sonnen.
Caraway was in action last month in Japan, losing a split decision to Takeya Mizugaki at the UFC on FUEL TV 8 event ending a three fight win streak. Prior to that Caraway earned a “Fight of the Night” submission win over Mitch Gagnon at UFC 149 and a submission victory at the TUF 14 Finale in his debut.
Bedford faces his new opponent on a three fight win streak and is 8-1 in his last nine. ‘Brutal’ KO’d Marcos Vinicius last December at the TUF 16 Finale, while finishing Louis Gaudinot at the TUF 14 Finale by TKO in his Octagon debut.
