A pair of middleweights appear to be matched up for this summer’s upcoming UFC on FOX Sports 1: 2 event in opponents TUF 17 alum Robert ‘Bubba’ McDaniel (21-6) and Swedish fighter Magnus ‘Jycken’ Cedenblad (10-4).
News of the matchup was identified by AtaqueTotal.com on Friday.
UFC on Fox Sports 1: Condit vs. Kampmann is expected to take place on August 28, 2013 at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The bout between McDaniel and Cedenblad is certain to appear on the prelim card, likely as part of the Facebook broadcast.
McDaniel was part of Team Jones on season seventeen of The Ultimate Fighter and lost early in the series to Uriah Hall in the quarterfinals. ‘Bubba’ would debut in the Octagon at the TUF 17 Finale, submitting castmate Gilbert Smith in the third round of their bout. The win pushed McDaniel’s current streak to seven matches.
Cedenblad debut with the UFC over a year ago as part of the promotions first trip to Sweden. At UFC on FUEL TV 2, Cedenblad would lose by second round submission to Francis Carmont. The loss ended a seven fight win streak for ‘Jycken’ who was to have fought at UFC on FOX 6 but was forced off the Chicago card.
