Legacy FC returned on Friday evening on AXS TV with another fun evening of fights.

The event featured a battle of undefeateds, Chris Feist vs. Carlos Ferreira, in the top slot, Holly Holm against Nikki Knudson and Olympian Henry Cejudo‘s fifth professional bout. There was a good amount to enjoy from this card with the prospects competing.

Chris Feist vs. Carlos Ferreira

The main event was a competitive, albeit lackluster, affair between the two undefeated prospects.

Feist turned up the intensity and pressure in the final minute of the fight, but Ferreira took him back to the mat. He managed the situation well and forced the fight to hit the scorecards.

Ferreira controlled the action of the fight. Feist was game, but it will go down as his first professional loss.

It is hard to see either fighter making waves in the lightweight division anytime soon, but there is a lot of raw talent between the two. Ferreira swept the cards with scores of 29-28, 29-28, 30-27. Feist may have lost, but the win will assist his development as a young fighter.

Henry Cejudo vs. Ryan Hollis

Cejudo got a full 15 minutes of work in but took the unanimous decision.

Ryan Hollis’ reach was a little perplexing for Cejudo early. However, the Olympian got inside and took him down. Once on top, it was all Cejudo. He is dominant from top position as one would expect an Olympic wrestler to be.

After the bout, Pat Miletich asked him how long it would be before he was ready to get into the UFC, and Cejudo replied, “Soon.” However, he made it known he still needs a bit more seasoning before moving on. He is eyeing a November return to the cage.

Holly Holm vs. Nikki Knudson

Holm dominated another outmatched opponent.

She took her normal course of action. She had a round of feeling out her opponent, while landing strikes at will, and turned up the pressure in the second. Knudson has no answer for Holm. Her toughness merely allowed her to take a prolonged beating.

Against the cage, Holm unloaded until the fight was stopped. She is a very good talent who is still developing, but she is in some need of credible competition. Can Legacy provide that for her moving forward, or is it time to take the next step forward in her career?

Ryan Benoit vs. Cody Fuller

Ryan Benoit was too much for Cody Fuller.

His return to the cage went about as well as he could have hoped, and it is a shame we did not get to see him against Damacio Page as was originally scheduled. Benoit got the stoppage at 4:53 of the first round. Fuller simply had no answers.
