A welterweight clash between Stephen Thompson and Robert Whittaker is slated for the upcoming UFC 170 card on Feb. 22 in Las Vegas, according to UFC Tonight on Wednesday.
Thompson has won three of his four fights, including a second-round knockout win over Chris Clements at UFC 165.
Whittaker has won two of his three UFC fights, but lost to Court McGee via split decision at UFC Fight Night 27 this past August.
A light heavyweight fight between Rashad Evans and Daniel Cormier will headline the event.
UFC 169: Two more fights have been added to the Newark card on Feb. 1. A lightweight contest pits Rashid Magomedov (15-1) against Tony Martin (8-0). Both fighters will be making their UFC debuts. Also, a weltwerweight contest between Neil Magny and Gasan Umalatov. Magny has lost two of his last three fights, while Umalatov (14-2) will be making his UFC debut.
UFC 171: Flyweights Darrell Montague and Will Campuzano will battle at the event on March 15 in Dallas. Montague was knocked out in his UFC debut at UFC 166 this past October. Campuzano lost in his UFC return, falling via unanimous decision to Sergio Pettis at UFc 167.
