Two more bouts have been added to the TUF 22 Finale on Dec. 11 at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Mirsad Bektic (10-0), who is 3-0 in the UFC, will try to remain unbeaten when he faces veteran Tatsuya Kawajiri (34-8-2) in a featherweight contest. Kawajiri has won two of his three UFC bouts, including a unanimous decision win over Dennis Siver at UFC Fight Night 69 this past June.

In the flyweight division, Justin Scoggins faces Joby Sanchez. Scoggins (10-2) snapped a two-fight skid with a win over Josh Sampo at UFC 187, while Sanchez (7-1) picked up his first UFC win over Tateki Matsuda at UFC Fight Night 59.

In the main event, Frankie Edgar will square off against Chad Mendes in a featherweight showdown.

WSOF signs veterans Caros Fodor and Cory Devela to multi-year contracts

The World Series of Fighting announced a couple of free agent signings on Thursday.

Lightweight Strikeforce/ONE FC veteran Caros Fodor — the brother of Ben Fodor, a.k.a. Phoenix Jones — and middleweight Cory Devela have signed multi-year contracts with the promotion, as was announced through a press release.

The 31-year old Fodor (10-4), a pupil of Matt Hume in Washington state, has won two fights in a row under the ONE FC banner. He submitted Willy Ni (kimura) and Vincent Latoel (rear-naked choke) while fighting in Asia. His last North American appearances came against Sam Stout at UFC 157, whom he dropped a split decision to, and Pat Healy in Strikeforce.

Devela (16-6), also 31, last appeared in the Sparta Combat League, where he won the middleweight championship in August. He has won four straight fights over all, dating back to Oct. 2104. His most notable victories have come over UFC veterans Nick Ring and Joe Riggs, when he competed in Strikeforce.

Devela lost via submission (rear-naked choke) in a bout against middleweight contender Luke Rockhold at a Strikeforce Challengers event in 2009.

“Caros and Cory are two seasoned and accomplished stars in their respective weight classes, so it is a pleasure to welcome them aboard,” the WSOF president Ray Sefo stated in the press release.

“With our roster of stars, and our schedule of live events and television programming all growing rapidly, this is a more exciting time than ever for World Series of Fighting, and we are delighted to be able to have more and more established talent like Caros and Cory be a part of what we are building.”

The no. 1 ranked strawweight contender Claudia Gadelha is still on the mend from an injured finger, and won’t be ready to fight for another five months.

As reported on UFC Tonight on Wednesday, Gadelha still cannot close her hand after suffering injured ligaments, therefore impeding her training. Her team said that she will be ready to compete again in February.

There have been conflicting reports as to when Gadelha might be ready to compete again. When the UFC announced that current strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk would be ready to defend her title at UFC 195 on January 2, Gadelha tweeted out that she would be ready whenever Jedrzejczyk was.

That won’t be the case, especially now that Jedrzejczyk is defending her title at UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia on Nov. 14. She’ll be facing Valerie Letourneau in the co-main event, with women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey defending her title against Holly Holm in the featured bout.

Gadelha made her case to rematch Jedzejczyk by dominating Jessica Aguilar at UFC 190 in Rio de Janeiro. After coming over from Invicta FC, she has gone 2-1 in the UFC, with her lone loss a split-decision against Jedzejczyk in December.

Jim Miller, Michael Chiesa targeted for UFC Fight Night 80 on Dec. 10 in Las Vegas

With three fight cards in three nights, Las Vegas in early December will become the center of the mixed martial arts universe.

And to kick things off at UFC Fight Night 80 — which takes place on Thursday, Dec. 10 — the UFC is looking to book a fight between lightweights Jim Miller and Michael Chiesa.

As first reported on UFC Tonight, that fight is being targeted for the Fight Pass card, which takes place at the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan.

The 32-year old Miller (25-6-1) is coming off of a split-decision victory over Danny Castillo at UFC on FOX 16 in July. That snapped a two-fight losing streak, which was the longest of Miller’s career. He was knocked out against Donald Cerrone in 2014 and dropped a unanimous decision against Beneil Dariush at UFC on FOX 15 in New Jersey. Before then Miller had gone 3-0-(1), with victories over Yancy Medeiros and Joe Lauzon.

The 27-year old Chiesa (12-2) rebounded from a loss against Joe Lauzon in September with a victory over Mitch Clarke at UFC Fight Night 63 this past April. The Ultimate Fighter 15 winner is 5-2 in the UFC, overall.
