Pictures of Tito Ortiz‘s banged-up Porsche Panamera have emerged on the Internet—as everyone knew they inevitably would—barely a week after Ortiz was arrested for DUI following an early-morning wreck in Los Angeles.
The photos surfaced through TMZ Sports (h/t MMAMania.com) Tuesday morning and depict front- and rear-end damage to the Porsche.
Ortiz’s Jan. 6 arrest is just the latest episode in what has become a soap opera life in recent years, spilling past the sports pages and into the gossip blogs. The wreck and arrest occurred at 4:30 a.m., reportedly after a night of partying at the Playboy Mansion, the events of which are also documented in photos.
Ortiz has experienced greater notoriety because of his tumultuous relationship with adult film actress Jenna Jameson, with whom he has had a series of well-publicized accusations and confrontations, verbal and otherwise.
It turns out Ortiz, 38, is also an accomplished MMA fighter. The Hall of Famer and former UFC light heavyweight champion (16-11-1) came out of retirement in 2013 to compete for the Bellator promotion. He was originally scheduled to face Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in the main event of Bellator’s first-ever pay-per-view broadcast, but the bout—and the pay-per-view—were scrapped just a handful of days before the event after Ortiz reportedly suffered a neck injury.
The card was then moved to cable TV and was headlined by a scintillating rematch that saw Eddie Alvarez reclaim his lightweight title from Michael Chandler.
Ortiz’s injured neck was just the latest in what had become an injury-plagued career in the cage for “The People’s Champion.” More than once, Ortiz pulled out of fights because of injuries, or credited injuries as having played a role in a loss.
After retiring from the UFC, Ortiz attempted to start a life away from fighting. He started a management company, with his most high-profile client being women’s MMA star Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino.
