UFC 119 Medical Suspensions – Cro Cop & Serra Out Minimum Of 180 Days

medicalsuspensions8dOn Monday, the Indiana Gaming Commission released the medical suspensions for this past weekends UFC 119: Mir vs. Cro Cop event, which took place at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A total of ten fighters received suspensions, with the longest going to headliner Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovi? and former UFC champ Matt Serra.

Both “Cro Cop” and Serra received a minimum suspension of 180 days and will have to be cleared by a physician following a CT scan of the head.

“Cro Cop” was knocked out in the third round of his main event bout with Frank Mir. While Matt Serra lost a unanimous decision to Chris Lytle.

The full UFC 119 medical suspensions were as follows.

Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic: suspended indefinitely and must clear CT head scan. He is suspended a minimum of 180 days following the fight.
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira: 30 day suspension, 30 days no contact
Matt Serra: suspended indefinitely and must clear CT head scan. He is suspended a minimum of 180 days following the fight.
Evan Dunham: 45 day suspension, 45 day no contact
Sean Sherk: 30 day suspension, 21 days no contact
Joey Beltran: 30 day suspension, 30 days no contact
Matt Mitrione: 30 day suspension, 12 days no contact.
Steve Lopez: 30 day suspension for laceration on his forehead, 30 days no contact
Sean McCorkle: 30 day suspension, 21 days no contact
Mark Hunt: indefinite suspension, needs to clear X-ray on left elbow, 30 days no contact
