Dennis Siver squares off against Taylor Lapilus at UFC Fight Night 53

With Robert Whiteford out with an injury, Taylor Lapilus will make his UFC debut against Dennis Siver at UFC Fight Night 53 on Oct. 4 in Stockholm, Sweden, according to UFC officials Wednesday.

Lapilus (8-1) has won three straight fights and four of his past five overall.

“Of course I know Dennis Siver because he’s a well-known name in MMA,” Lapilus said in a statement. “He’s a really strong man, and he’s a great fighter with his punches and kicks. I have a lot of respect for him and it’s a big honour to fight someone like him. I’m going be ready for the challenge.”

Siver (21-9) is fighting for the first time since having his decision win overturned to a no-contest after he tested positive for human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG).

Gunnar Nelson will face Rick Story in the main event.
