John Lineker vs. Ian McCall rebooked for UFC 183 in Las Vegas

John Lineker and Ian McCall are set to meet … again.

The pair of flyweight contenders, who were scheduled to meet at UFC Fight Night 56 in Uberlandia, Brazil, on Nov. 8, will square off at UFC 183 in Las Vegas on Jan. 31, the promotion announced Wednesday.

Both Lineker and McCall successfully made weight on UFN 56 official weigh-ins on Nov. 7, but the UFC announced later that night that the bout was cancelled due to McCall’s last-minute illness.

“Once I weakened my immune system with my weight cut, my body completely failed me,” McCall told MMAFighting.com days after the event.

Winner of five of his past six bouts with four knockout finishes, Lineker (24-7) was hoping to get an immediate shot at UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson after McCall pulled out from the bout, but will have to face him after all.

McCall (13-4-1), who is 0-1-1 against “Mighty Mouse”, enters the bout coming off back-to-back decision victories over Iliarde Santos and Brad Pickett.

UFC 183 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined by Anderson Silva vs. Nick Diaz.
