Germaine de Randamie will meet an opponent in the top five in her next UFC fight.

Coming off a TKO victory over Larissa Pacheco in March, the Dutch bantamweight is set to take on Sarah Kaufman at the UFC on FOX 17 card in Orlando on Dec. 19, the Orlando Sentinel reported on Friday.

de Randamie, a Strikeforce veteran who brings a 5-3 record to the table, is 2-1 under the UFC banner with a loss to 135-pound contender Amanda Nunes sandwiched by wins over Pacheco and Julie Kedzie.

Ranked No. 5 in the UFC, Kaufman (17-3, 1 no-contest) looks to get back on track after losing to Alexis Davis in May. Kaufman, who beat Davis twice before, also holds wins over the likes of Miesha Tate, Liz Carmouche, Shayna Baszler.

UFC on FOX 17 takes place at the Amway Center. In the main event, Donald Cerrone rematches Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight championship, while former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos takes on Alistair Overeem in the co-main event.

Pedro Rizzo gets new opponent for upcoming fight in Brazil

Pedro Rizzo returns to MMA 28 months after his last fight, and he has a new opponent for the Face to Face 12 main event in Vitoria, Brazil.

With 312-fight veteran Travis Fulton sidelined due to illness, FTF officially announced that Rizzo will now take on Hawaiian heavyweight Andrew Smith at Vitoria’s Alvares Cabral gymnasium on Sept. 12.

“I’m sure this card will be one of the best Brazilian MMA events this year,” FTF president Alex Gaze stated in a release. “I was upset when Travis had to pull out because this fight with Pedro was expected by fans and media. But it happens, unfortunately he had a health issue. I hope he recovers well and we can watch him soon at Face to Face.”

A former UFC heavyweight contender, Rizzo (19-11) looks for his first win since 2010, when he racked up a three-fight winning streak over Jeff Monson, Gary Goodridge and Ken Shamrock. In his most recent bouts, the Brazilian veteran lost to Fedor Emelianenko and Satoshi Ishii.

Smith (14-8), who built most of his MMA career fighting in Peru, scored 10 of his 14 wins via TKO, and won six of his past eight.

In the co-main event, one-time UFC veteran Guilherme Vasconcelos battles Marcio Santos (6-1) for the vacant welterweight title. The promotion also announced that the winner of Gilbert Patrocinio (6-0) vs. Genair da Silva (14-5) and Joao Luiz Nogueira (19-6) vs. Bruno Camargo (5-3) will collide at Face to Face 13 for the vacant featherweight championship.

‘Shogun’ Rua undergoes surgery, eyes early 2016 return to the UFC

Mauricio Rua went under the knife in Sao Paulo, and feels “good as new”.

“I had surgery on my right shoulder this past Sunday in Sao Paulo, with my orthopedist Dr. Daniel Delaquilla, and everything went well,” Rua posted Wednesday on his Facebook.

“I already did the ‘post-surgery’ appointment yesterday, Tuesday, and we are already taking care of my recovery to be back strong, ‘good as new’, early next year.”

The former UFC and PRIDE champion, who defeated Antonio Rogerio Nogueira via decision at UFC 190, suggested a rematch with Quinton Jackson for his next bout, but won’t be able to return to the Octagon until 2016.

Rua (23-10) entered UFC 190 coming off four losses in five bouts, and defeated “Minotouro” in a close unanimous decision.

The light heavyweight veteran plans on training at Rafael Cordeiro’s King MMA in California for his next UFC fight.

Conor McGregor: Jose Aldo’s ‘shady ass’ doesn’t get tested in Brazil

Conor McGregor vs. Jose Aldo was rebooked for Dec. 12, and “The Notorious” hopes Aldo gets tested before UFC 194.

Before pulling out of UFC 189 in July with a rib injury, Aldo was involved in a controversial drug test procedure in Rio de Janeiro, when Drug Free Sport director Ben Mosier visited Nova Uniao for an unannounced drug test. Aldo agreed to do the test, but visa issues forced Mosier to discard the urine sample.

Aldo provided a second urine sample a day later, and tested negative for banned substances. He ended up leaving the bout with an injury, and McGregor defeated late-replacement Chad Mendes to win the interim title.

After all the controversy, “The Notorious” hopes his rival is getting tested before UFC 194.

“I got tested. I get tested constantly, it’s his shady ass that doesn’t get tested over there in Brazil,” McGregor told Combate. “All this corruption is still over there. Some police officer from the gym arrested the guy who was taking the test. That is the shadiest shit I’ve ever heard in my life. So, I take the test, he doesn’t. Test his ass!”

Aldo recently spent some days in the United States to visit the Ultimate Fighter gym and be part of the “Go Big” press conference, and McGregor hopes he was drug tested by the Nevada Athletic Commission while in Las Vegas.

“He should’ve been tested right now, today or this whole period,” he said. “If he wasn’t, that’s disgraceful. We’ll see. I’ll ask if he was or was not tested.”

Vitor Belfort: Jose Aldo is a real athlete, Conor McGregor is a trash talker

The UFC got some of their top stars in a press conference Friday, but interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor taking over the day didn’t please everyone.

Vitor Belfort flew to Las Vegas to promote his Nov. 7 main event clash with Dan Henderson, and expressed his disappointment with the situation over his social media. The former UFC light heavyweight champion, who headlines the upcoming Fight Night card in Sao Paulo, believes MMA is becoming entertainment only.

Belfort, who was asked only one question during the entire press conference, doesn’t think “The Notorious” represents the true values of the sport.

This is a legend fight Belfort vs. Henderson 3. We don’t need trash talk to sell tkts. I am wondering if one day MMA will be seen more like a sport and less than entertainment? It seems that we are going to the wrong way. A good example is Aldo (real athlete) and Mc Gregor (trash talker). To become an Olympic sport we have to apply the Olympic values not only the Olympic rules. Where is the RESPECT?!? I don’t want to see our kids thinking that to become a successful MMA athlete you have to talk crap instead of respecting others. Real martial arts is not about this!!! We need a good example starting from the organizations, fighters and extending to the media and fans. It is a free consulting!!! I have a voice!!!!

Aldo vs. McGregor headlines the biggest UFC card of the year on Dec. 12, and “The Phenom” looks to for his way up towards another shot at the 185-pound title in a trilogy bout against Henderson.
