Cody Bollinger has a new home.
Titan FC has signed the Ultimate Fighter 18 alum to an exclusive, four-fight contract, Titan CEO Jeff Aronson told MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani on Wednesday. Bollinger has a Zuffa out clause in the deal if he were to sign with the UFC.
Aronson said Titan is targeting a bout between Bollinger and Kurt Holobaugh on March 20 at Aerofest in Mobile, Ala.
Bollinger (17-3) was famously kicked off The Ultimate Fighter 18 in 2013 when he was unable to make weight. He then signed with World Series of Fighting and went 2-1 this year, only falling to Marlon Moraes in a WSOF bantamweight title fight in September. Bollinger missed weight in his last two bouts for World Series of Fighting, but the Moraes contest was on short notice.
The 23-year-old then had it out publicly and privately with WSOF matchmaker Ali Abdel-Aziz. He was eventually granted his release from the organization. Last month, Bollinger defeated Alexander Moses at Gladiator Challenge: Season’s Beatings with a first-round TKO (head kick).
Desmond Green beat former UFC veteran Steven Siler for the Titan FC featherweight title at Titan FC 32 on Dec. 19. If Bollinger moves up to 145 given his weight-cutting issues — and that’s likely since Holobaugh is a featherweight — he could be an instant title contender.
