Tony Martin replaces injured Matt Wiman against Leonardo Santos at UFC Fight Night 62

Leonardo Santos has a new opponent for UFC Fight Night 62.

Less than 24 hours after the media day that officially announced the fight card in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the promotion announced that Matt Wiman won’t be able to face off against Santos on March 21 due to an injury. Tony Martin has agreed to step up and face the Nova Uniao fighter.

Martin (9-2) returns to the same arena where he tapped Fabricio Camoes with a kimura in the first-round at UFC 179 in October, earning his first victory in the UFC. Prior to that victory, Martin suffered loses to Rashid Magomedov and Beneil Dariush.

Santos (13-3-1), winner of the second season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil, is unbeaten over the past eight bouts. Under the UFC banner, the jiu-jitsu black belt has a majority draw with Norman Parke sandwiched by wins over William Macario and Efrain Escudero.

Headlined by Demian Maia vs. Ryan LaFlare, UFC Fight Night 62 takes place at the Maracanazinho gymnasium on March 21.
