On the latest episode of the Ultimate Insder, UFC officials confirmed the light-heavyweight matchup between top UFC fighters Jon “Bones” Jones (11-1) vs. Ryan “Darth” Bader (12-0) for UFC 126 on Feb. 5th.
The bout had been rumored for sometime with nothing definite to nail down the matchup till now.
The event will take place on Super Bowl weekend at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on Feb. 5th with the bout between Jones vs. Bader likely serving as the co-main event. The UFC middleweight title matchup between champ Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort should serve as the events headliner.
Jones has won two straight since his only loss, a disqualification against Matt Hamill after using illegal elbow strikes in a match he was dominating. Since then, Jones went on to dispatch Brandon Vera and Vladimir Matyushenko, both in the first round and both via TKO.
Bader, who keeps his record perfect at 12-0, is coming off a unanimous decision win over Antônio Rogério Nogueira at UFC 119. Since winning season 8 of “The Ultimate Fighter” by defeating Vinny Magalhães in the Finale, Bader has gone on to earn victories over Carmelo Marrero, Eric Schafer, Keith Jardine and Nogueira.
