An injury has once again forced a change in Sergio Moraes’ next fight.
Moraes, a multiple time jiu-jitsu champion, will now face UFC newcomer Mickael Lebout at UFC Fight Night 64 in Krakow, Poland, on April 11. Lebout replaces injured Gasan Umalatov, who stepped in when Moraes’ original opponent Peter Sobotta also pulled out with an injury.
Moraes (8-2) finally makes his return to the Octagon after a severe knee injury. The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil hasn’t fought since a first-round submission over Neil Magny in August 2013. The Brazilian enters the bout coming off back-to-back finishes.
Lebout (13-3-2), who steps in on a 14-day’s notice, is unbeaten over the past seven fights. A former welterweight champion at Profesjonalna Liga MMA in Poland, he French fighter finished most of his bouts via submission.
UFC Fight Night 64 features a heavyweight rematch between Gabriel Gonzaga and Mirko Cro Cop in the main event.
