Another bout has been added to the list of fights for January’s UFC Fight for the Troops 2 event between welterweights Mike “Quick” Swick (14-4) and David “Daudi” Mitchell (11-1).
MMAWeekly.com confirmed the bout with sources on Monday for the upcoming Jan. 22nd UFC event in Fort Hood, Texas. Spike TV carried the main card of the first event live on their network and should do the same for this one.
Swick is facing a third straight loss in the UFC, therefore fighting for his future with the promotion. The former “TUF 1″ competitor was choked out by Paulo Thiago at UFC 109 in February and lost a #1 welterweight contender bout to Dan Hardy by unanimous decision at UFC 105. Despite that fact, the UFC is not known for retaining fighters who have lost three in a row. Swick’s record in the UFC is 9-3.
Mitchell is looking to rebound from his first career loss after dropping a unanimous decision to Anthony Waldburger at UFN 22 in his promotional debut in September. “Daudi” was undefeated earning 9 of his 11 wins by submission. He’s only gone to a decision twice, earning a unanimous decision in 2007 and a split decision over War Machine in 2009.
