Renato Carneiro is out of UFC Fight Night 67.
Carneiro has sustained an undisclosed injury and was forced to pull out of the upcoming event in Goiania, Brazil, on May 30. Undefeated in MMA, his opponent Mirsad Bektic will now face off Chute Boxe prospect Lucas Martins. MMAFighting.com confirmed the news following a report from Combate.
Martins (15-2) will attempt to bounce back to the win column after suffering his first loss as a featherweight in the UFC. “Mineiro”, who was 3-0 with finishes since cutting down to 145 pounds, recently lost to Darren Elkins via split decision at UFC 179 in Rio de Janeiro.
Bektic (9-0) signed with the UFC after scoring seven straight wins from 2011 to 2013. The Bosnia and Herzegovina native defeated both Chas Skelly and Paul Redmond via decision in the Octagon.
