Carlos Condit would ‘definitely’ like to avenge that loss to Tyron Woodley

Carlos Condit hasn’t fought since suffering a knee injury against Tyron Woodley in March 2014, and he’s still interested in a rematch.

A former interim welterweight champion, “The Natural Born Killer” is scheduled to headline tonight’s UFC Fight Night 67 in Goiania, Brazil, against Thiago Alves, and would welcome a rematch with “The Chosen One” in the future.

“I would definitely like to avenge that loss,” Condit told MMAFighting.com. “Injury sucks, but it is part of the game. The day after that fight I called Dana White and told him I wanted the rematch and he told me I had it if I wanted. So, I’m definitely looking forward to that sometime in the future.”

Woodley’s win came due to an injury, but Condit wouldn’t call it a fluke.

“I don’t wanna take anything away,” he said. “He won that fight, but I do feel that, had the fight not being stopped on the injury, I would have finished him. But what happened, happened. But I am looking forward to getting a rematch.”

Right after his win over Condit, Woodley lost to Rory MacDonald via unanimous decision at UFC 174. He came back to the win column with victories over Dong Hyun Kim and Kelvin Gastelum, and has yet to sign his next fight. Can Condit be next, if he gets past Alves?

“Maybe, I don’t know. Maybe,” Condit said. “Depends on where he’s at, depends on what the division looks like. Things can change very, very quickly.”
