Four years after watching his rear-naked choke being overturned to a no-contest due to an illegal knee, “Do Bronx” choked Lentz with a guillotine at UFC Fight Night 67 in Goiania, Brazil, on Saturday night.
Winner of his past four UFC bouts with three submissions, Oliveira wants a shot at the featherweight gold.
“If you don’t want the title, you’re in the wrong sport,” Oliveira said at the post-fight press conference at the Goiania Arena. “When I have my chance, I will go there to become champion. I can grow a lot more. I haven’t showed anything yet. One day I will get there and win the title.”
Oliveira, who went 3-0 in 2014, wants a quick return to the Octagon to build his way up the rankings.
“I want to fight and be happy. That’s the idea,” he said. “I want to go back home and rest. I hope the UFC calls me to fight as soon as possible. It doesn’t matter the opponent, I want to fight. When the UFC calls me for a shot at the title, be sure I won’t waste it.”
