Bethe Correia signs new 8-fight deal with the UFC

Bethe Correia inked a new contract with the UFC ahead of the biggest fight of her MMA career.

The undefeated bantamweight fighter, who takes on UFC 135-pound champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 190 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Aug. 1, announced on her Instagram that she has signed a new 8-fight deal with the promotion.

“I’m really happy today,” Correia wrote. “With hard work, blood, sweat, punches to the face and much more… I’m renewing my contract with the UFC for eight more fights. I will be able to give my fans at least eight fights on TV, and follow my life and my camp for more eight fights. I will always do my best.”

In a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, Correia predicted a win over “farce” Rousey via knockout.

“I don’t have any doubt that I’m going to win,” she said. “I don’t see myself losing. It never crosses my mind. My faith doesn’t allow that. I see me knocking her out. If I end up submitting her, maybe she’ll give me a guillotine or something like that, I’ll take it, but I really want a knockout. I wanna knock her out with a head kick. I think it would be amazing. But if it doesn’t happen, I can do it with my hands. I just want to give her something that she has never tasted before.”

UFC 190 takes place at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and airs live on pay-per-view.
