Brazilian featherweight Diego Nunes (15-1) will face Mike Brown, another former World Extreme Cagefighting competitor, on January 1st when both men make their Ultimate Fighting Championship debut at UFC 125: Resolution.

Nunes is expecting to face a heavy hitter in Brown but already knows the path to success against the former featherweight champ. Nunes training partner, current WEC featherweight champ Jose Aldo, has been helping him train for the fight and has shown him how to defeat Brown come New Year’s day.

We already know a bit about his game, we’ve watched his old fights, and his fight with Junior… I know him, on my last fight we were on the same cloakroom, I could see his tension, how he feels before the fight… He’s a guy with heavy hands, has a good Wrestling game, like to smash people and do his own game. He’s a guy that doesn’t take many risks, is much centered. I’ll see what game plan to use along with Dedé (Pederneiras), we’ll go for it and let go our game. This time, I want to use more of my Muay Thay and Boxing to surprise him on the trade of punches… Jose Aldo has told me how to beat him, now I just have to put in practice our trainings.
