Despite having never competed in professional MMA previously, Phil Brooks, aka CM Punk, will reportedly be rated 85 out of 100 on the EA Sports UFC 2 video game.
MMA journalist Mike Bohn confirmed he had been able to play the game, and the rating of Punk stood out:
Here’s a look at how the former WWE star’s character reportedly looks in the game, which is set to be released in March this year, per Chamatkar Sandhu of MMA Junkie:
Punk was widely anticipated to make his debut in the UFC in 2015 but injury scuppered any hopes of him doing so.
However, last month UFC President Dana White told TSN’s Off the Record (h/t Matt Lawless of the MailOnline) that Brooks will fight this year “100 percent.”
According to MMA Junkie, White is considering Mickey Gall, who has one fight and one win in professional MMA, as an opponent.
Gall seems keen to square off with the former professional wrestler, too, citing the UFC 200 showpiece as potentially the card on which to do so:
The cover stars for the video game are UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, who knocked out Jose Aldo in stunning style at UFC 194 last month, and Ronda Rousey, the former UFC bantamweight champion.
Punk rose to prominence during his time in the WWE, as he became the longest reigning champion of the modern era. The 37-year-old confirmed in 2014 he’d be trading professional wrestling for the Octagon.
