Another bout, another first round KO for Cris Cyborg.
It may have lasted a bit longer than her past two contests, but Cris Cyborg still managed to dispatch yet another opponent in the first round. Daria Ibragimova had a game plan to try and take Justino down, but the dominant champion defended the clinch well, and even landed some good shots while being pressed on the fence.
Once they separated and Cyborg got space though, it was all over. A huge punch even got the challenger spinning as she dropped down to the floor, and Cyborg pounced to end the fight with only a couple of seconds left on the opening round.
This was Cyborg’s 3rd defense of her Invicta featherweight crown, and she has gone undefeated since 2005.
Justino is running out of opponents willing to face her, so it would be interesting to see how she gets matched up moving forward. Following Rousey’s loss, Cyborg has ruled out dropping down to 135 lbs, but has stated that she’d be willing to face Holly Holm at a catchweight.
Also on the card, Livia Renata Souza defended her strawweight title with a first round stoppage against DeAnna Bennett, and TUF standout Angela Hill made quick work of Alida Gray during her Invicta debut.
