It’s once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Sunday, February 21st, 2016) will come in the form of UFC Fight Night 83. Headlining the card are Donald Cerrone and Alex Oliveira, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the preliminary section of the card.
Alex Garcia vs. Sean Strickland in a welterweight bout closes the preliminary card on Fox Sports 1.
Oluwale Bamgbose vs. Daniel Sarafian is next in a middleweight bout.
Leonardo Augusto Leleco vs. Anthony Smith is next in a middleweight bout.
Nathan Coy vs. Jonavin Webb in a welterweight bout opens the Fox Sports 1 preliminary bouts.
Ashlee Evans-Smith vs. Marion Reneau in a women’s bantamweight bout finishes off the UFC Fight Pass preliminary card.
Kelly Faszholz vs. Lauren Murphy is next in a women’s bantamweight bout.
Opening the UFC Fight Pass prelims was Shamil Abdurakhimov vs. Anthony Hamilton in a heavyweight bout. This was a stand-up fight that saw both men have their moments. Hamilton wanted to take the fight to the ground early, but after several failed attempts, he threw that game plan out the window and started to let his hands go, which paid off. Abdurakhimov used the clinch to fire away several strikes and short jabs to find success of the feet. They traded to the end. Abdurakhimov was awarded the unanimous decision.
