Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones recently appeared on the “Tiki and Tierney” podcast to hype his upcoming title fight with current champion Daniel Cormier in the main event of UFC 197.
When asked about the possibility of losing to Cormier, Jones shot the question down by saying that there’s no way he loses to him.
“I do not think that possibility. I understand that there is a possibility of this happening, but when I think of the defeat, the only thing that comes into my head, soon after, is that I have to get back to work. I have to improve on something. I train four, five times a day. I think to myself, “No way, Jon You will not lose this fight.”. There’s no way I lose. The his age will not allow it, and I’m stronger and faster.”
Jones also explained that he doesn’t hate Cormier despite the massive trash talk that has gone on between the two fighters.
“I definitely do not hate this guy. We did not like because we are the elite of our sport. We are at the highest level when it comes to a UFC fighter. He only lost to me, and I have not lost anyone. I know he’s a guy capable and have a chance to beat me. He knows that I can beat him because I’ve done it. It is a competition that only we can draw from each other – recognized the former champion.”
