It looks like Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz II is a lot closer than people think.

While the announcement has yet to be made official by the UFC themselves, Ariel Helwani said on Monday’s edition of “The MMA Hour” at MMAFighting.com that contracts have been issued to both McGregor and Diaz for a rematch at 170 pounds.

Helwani noted that the reason the fight will be contested at 170 pounds again, instead of 155 pounds, where McGregor was intending to go for his last fight and where Diaz is ranked in the UFC, because McGregor is a “wildman” who is determined to set up the rematch exactly the same as the first fight — only he expects to win this time around.

It was also noted that the McGregor-Diaz II fight is expected to be announced this week. It is still believed that the fight will headline the landmark UFC 200 event, which goes down on July 9th at the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
