Hours after he turned himself into police, the UFC has released a statement regarding former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

UFC is aware that Jon Jones turned himself into the Albuquerque Police Department this morning for a potential probation violation stemming from a traffic stop last week.

UFC has been in touch with Jones’ legal team and will have no further comment until the organization has had appropriate time to gather necessary information.

Jones was ticketed for five different items last week following a stop in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Last year, “Bones” was placed on probation for his role in a hit-and-run incident that sent a pregnant woman to the hospital with a broken arm.

Jones remains on track to face Daniel Cormier next month at UFC 197 for the title.
