Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is close to putting the finishing touches on a fan-friendly fight pitting Joe Lauzon against Diego Sanchez for UFC 200, the promotion’s landmark pay-per-view (PPV) event scheduled for July 9, 2016 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

MMA Fighting (via Vendetta Fighter) brought word of the pairing on Tuesday.

Lauzon (25-11) has been unable to find any sort of consistency throughout his UFC career, which dates back to The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 Finale in June 2007. Not that anyone gives a shit, because “J-Lau” always puts on a show and is usually a lock for at least one “Performance of the Night” bonus each time he competes.

The same can be said for the up-and-down Sanchez (26-8), who returned to the lightweight division a few weeks back after an unsuccessful pit stop at 145 pounds. “The Dream” has been unable to win consecutive fights since 2010-11, but always comes to bang.

Graston technique incoming!

Here is the current list of rumored UFC 200 bouts to date:

170 lbs.: Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz
265 lbs.: Cain Velasquez vs. Travis Browne
170 lbs.: Johny Hendricks vs. Kelvin Gastelum
185 lbs.: Gegard Mousasi vs. Derek Brunson
155 lbs.: Joe Lauzon vs. Diego Sanchez
