This wasn’t the original fight, nor was it the original main event.

But former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Mauricio Rua suffered an undisclosed injury and was forced to withdraw from his Rashad Evans fight, booked for tonight’s (Sat., April 16, 2016) UFC on FOX 19 event inside Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Taking his place will be 205-pound slugger Glover Teixeira.

Evans (19-4-1) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Ryan Bader back in October, his first appearance after nearly two years on the injured reserves. Teixeira (24-4), meanwhile, is the winner of two straight, bagging and tagging Ovince Saint Preux and Patrick Cummins during his 2015 fight campaign.

Here to tell you more about it is the UFC on FOX crew.
