UFC Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson helps homeless night before UFC 197 title defense

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson is notoriously a nice guy.

Rarely caught talking smack about impending opponents, promotional policy, or anything that could be perceived as adolescent frustrations, “Mighty Mouse” is arguably the most professional champion UFC has at its disposal.

But when the 125-pound king and his wife, Destiny Johnson, took to the Las Vegas, Nevada, streets last night (Fri., April 22, 2016) to feed the homeless, Johnson’s generosity was brought to new heights. The act of kindness was momentarily captured on Twitter, which can be found below:

What makes this act even more thoughtful is the fact that Johnson is gearing up to defend his title for the eighth-straight time tonight (Sat., April 23, 2016) at UFC 197 opposite undefeated Olympic wrestling gold medalist Henry Cejudo live on pay-per-view (PPV) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. But despite the tough task at hand, “Mighty Mouse” seemed comfortable and prepared enough to take time out of his busy weekend to pick up some groceries, hit the pavement, and put smiles on the faces of a few struggling human beings.

During a time when fighters are missing mandatory press conferences, going to war with one another via social media, complaining about title shots, or focused on their own fights, it’s nice to see one combat star still cares about the less fortunate.
