The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will never stop attacking unsaturated markets. New, old, on the moon, or under the ocean, the biggest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion will always be looking to expand its internationally-ready product.

So when news broke earlier today (Sat., May 7, 2016) before UFC Fight Night 87’s weigh ins that the organization plans to host an event in Hamburg, Germany, on Sept. 3, MMA fans weren’t surprised. After all, UFC has always put its best foot forward in expanding throughout a variety of European markets.

It’s no coincidence that UFC Fight Night 87 will take place this Sunday (May 8, 2016) in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

While no bouts have been announced for the event, the promotion did say that it will be held at the Barclaycard Arena, which holds up to 16,000 fans. Tickets will go on sale on May 27.

German fighters such as Dennis Siver, who is currently scheduled to fight B.J. Penn at UFC 199 on June 4, Pascal Krauss, Nick Hein, and newly signed 23-year-old prospect Jessin Ayari would have to be considered early favorites to make the card.
