If there’s one thing Conor McGregor has gained a reputation for in terms of his unique talent and ability outside of the cage during his rise to the top of the sport, it’s his uncanny ability to predict — almost to the letter — how his fights will play out.
Over the weekend, McGregor’s coach, SBG Ireland’s own John Kavanagh, gave his official prediction for the highly-anticipated McGregor-Diaz rematch next month.
As Kavanagh explained during a Periscope Q&A he took part in (watch above), he believes that McGregor gassed himself out by “throwing too many power punches” in his first fight with Diaz. As a result of the outcome, which saw “The Notorious” one lose his first fight in the UFC, Kavanagh said that McGregor is taking his preparation “100 times more serious” this time around.
Fans saw a glimpse of that fact when McGregor-Diaz was pulled from the headline spot of the historic UFC 200 pay-per-view, with McGregor wanting to spend more time preparing for his rematch as opposed to playing the media game.
If you feel Kavanagh has the same freaky ability as his pupil when it comes to predicting fight outcomes, the reigning 145-pound champion will be finishing Diaz in their 170-pound rematch in the fourth round, as that was the official on-the-record prediction from the SBG Ireland head coach.
Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz 2 headlines the upcoming UFC 202 pay-per-view event, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
