Ian McCall was expected to make his return to the Octagon at UFC 201 opposite Justin Scoggins, but a botched weight cut by Scoggins put McCall’s comeback on hold. “Uncle Creepy” has fought just once since July 2014 due to a litany of injuries and divisional setbacks.

Well, it now appears that McCall will make another attempt to step foot back inside the cage at UFC 203 on Sept. 10 live from Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. He will take on rising youngster Ray Borg, who has compiled a 3-2 divisional record since making his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut back in 2014.

Ironically, Borg last lost to Scoggins. The 23-year-old scrapper is easily one of the more promising up-and-coming names at 125 pounds and a guy who should be able to push McCall in his return to action.

As for McCall, who now faces a divisional opponent coming off a loss, this is a great opportunity to use Borg’s aggressive style to his favor. At the end of the day, whether “Uncle Creepy” was competing against Scoggins, Borg or some other Flyweight hopeful, a victory in 2016 puts him back on track for a title shot next year.

UFC 203 will be headlined by a Heavyweight title fight between champion Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem. The main card will also feature the debut of Phil Brooks, better known as “CM Punk.”
