Like him or not, Ariel Helwani has the beat of the MMA world at his fingertips.
Helwani sent out a Tweet Wednesday morning regarding Ronda Rousey and “increased optimism” regarding her return to the UFC.
Rousey has not fought since losing the UFC female bantamweight title last November to Holly Holm in Australia. She admitted that time off was needed following the defeat and has kept herself busy with movie projects and TV commercials.
Few mths ago the talk was more if not when. That has shifted. November to early 2017 is the talk now, but it's still very early. Stay tuned.

UFC president Dana White has stated several times that “Rowdy” would be granted an immediate title shot if that is what she wants upon her return. Helwani mentioned that the “goal” was for her to fight later this year when the Octagon invades New York City for the first time, but added “it’s important to remember Rousey had minor knee surgery two months ago.”
