UFC 202 popped off from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada tonight (August 20, 2016). Topped by the highly anticipated rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, the card was action-packed from top to bottom.

The main event delivered on the hype, and then some. The “Notorious” and Stockton’s own Nate Diaz went at it from bell to bell. In the end, McGregor triumphed on the judges scorecards. His leg kick-oriented gameplan paid dividends, as his punches dropped Diaz but once again could not put him away. This time though, Diaz’s boxing was hampered by his damaged leg. He fought back brilliantly in round three and looked to be taking over the fight, but McGregor had perhaps the best round of his career in round four to stifle his foe’s momentum. Diaz took the fifth, but ultimately, it wasn’t enough to sway the judges. McGregor took home a majority decision win (48-47, 48-47, 47-47) to set up a possible trilogy fight between the two rivals.

The co-headliner featured the number one and two light heavyweight contenders in the world in Anthony Johnson and Glover Teixeira, respectively. “Rumble” took care of business early, shutting out Teixeira’s lights with one well-placed uppercut inside the first minute of the fight.
