After weighing all of his options, Daniel Cormier has elected to undergo surgery to repair his injured groin.
Cormier, the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion, will go under the knife on Friday to fix the injury. As reported on “UFC Tonight,” he is expected to be cleared to train in two months and hopes to fight in four.
“DC” was originally scheduled to face Anthony Johnson in a title defense next weekend at UFC 206. Since winning the belt from Johnson last year, Cormier has defend it just once vs. Alexander Gustafsson.
