It’s been a busy day for News blogs as news of several bouts surfaced over the past 24 hours for the upcoming UFC 128 and UFC Fight Night 24 events.

Making news for the UFC 128 event which is expected to take place on March 19th at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ are:

– Light-heavyweight bout: Luiz Cane (10-3) vs. Karlos Vemola (8-1)

Bouts announced for the upcoming UFC Fight Night 24 event, which takes place on March 26 at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington include:

– Featherweight bout: Alex “Bruce Leroy” Carceres (4-2) vs. Mackens Semerzier (5-3)
– Middleweight bout: Aaron Simpson (7-2) vs. Mario Miranda (12-2)
Jim Miller is 14-1 in his last fifteen fights and is coming off a submission win over Charles Oliveira at UFC 124. While Kamal Shalorus makes his UFC debut after a 3-0-1 record in the WEC earning a split decision win over Bart Palaszewski at WEC 53 in his last fight.
Luiz Cane is 3-3 in the UFC and enters the fight on back-to-back losses, having been defeated at UFC 114 by Cyrille Diabate. While Karlos Vemola is 1-1 in the UFC having earned a TKO win over Seth Petruzelli at UFC 122 in November.
If the news is correct, then Dan Miller enters the fight with a 5-3 UFC record having won his last two and defeated Joe Doerksen at UFC 124 via split decision for his last win. Dave Branch is 2-1 in the UFC having earned a unanimous decision win over Rich Attonito at the “TUF 12 Finale” in December.
Ludwig is 3-2 in his third run with the UFC earning a split decision win over Nick Osipczak at UFC 122. Sadollah is 4-2 since winning “TUF 7″ and earned a unanimous decision victory against Peter Sobotta at UFC 122.
Alex “Bruce Leory” Caceres drops to featherweight for his UFC debut, appearing on the last season of “TUF” but was forced off the Finale due to an injury. Mackens Semerzier will make his UFC debut after a 1-3 record in the WEC, he’s lost three straight losing a split decision to Cub Swanson at WEC 52 in his last fight.
Aaron Simpson is fighting for his job, sporting a 3-2 UFC record and losing his last two, most recently to Mark Muñoz at UFC 123 via unanimous decision. Mario Miranda is likely in the same boat with a 1-2 record, having lost to Demian Maia by unanimous decision at UFC 118 in his last fight.
