Highlights! Gennady Golovkin vs. Daniel Jacobs on HBO PPV Boxing video replay

Boxing’s knockout king Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (37-0; 33 KO) put his WBA (Super), WBC, and IBO middleweight titles on the line last night (Sat., Mar. 18, 2017) live on HBO Boxing pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, when he took on “Big Apple” native Daniel “Miracle Man” Jacobs (32-2; 29 KO). The hard-hitting Golovkin was hesitant in the early going as Jacobs offered crisp jabs and better combinations on the edges, but ultimately GGG came alive in the fourth round and scored a timely knockdown. From that point on, the two fighters exchanged winning rounds as Golovkin looked to land one big shot and “Miracle Man” pressed forward with style switches, combinations, and neutralizing movement. Entering a 12th and final round that many believed would spit out the winner of the fight, GGG was simply more active, landing harder shots and controlling the action. Because of that, along with the knockdown earlier in the fight, the power puncher was able to ward off Jacobs on the scorecards and leave NYC with the unanimous decision win. It was the first 12th round of Golovkin’s career and the first time he hasn’t finished by knockout in 23 fights.
