The “Super Samoan” Mark Hunt (5-7) will get another crack at a career in the Ultimate Fighting Championship as he’s scheduled to face Chris Tuchscherer (18-3) at the upcoming UFC 127 event in Sydney.
The bout was listed on the schedule for UFC 127 at UFC.com.
Hunt made his UFC debut at UFC 119 having his elbow injured in his submission loss to Sean McCorkle in that fight. The loss was the “Super Samoan’s” sixth straight defeat having suffered losses to Gegard Mousasi, Melvin Manhoef, Alistair Overeem, Fedor Emelianenko, and Josh Barnett.
Letting Hunt into the UFC, as well as keeping him after his loss, likely have something to do with the promotion finishing off it’s contract with the fighter after their purchase of the PRIDE organization.
Tuchscherer is 1-2 in his last three, all under the UFC banner. “The Crowbar” was stopped by Brendan Schaub at UFC 116 in his last fight, losing by TKO in the first round. Before that loss, Tuchscherer earned a majority decision against Tim Hague at UFC 109 and was TKO’d by Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 102.
UFC 127:Penn vs. Fitch is scheduled for February 27th at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.
