The viewership numbers for UFC Fight Night 120 (UFC Norfolk) have been released.
The event, which took place on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia and was headlined by a lightweight bout between Dustin Poirier and Anthony Pettis, averaged 837,000 viewers.
The main card aired on FOX Sports 1 at 10 p.m. ET while the preliminary card was split broadcasted on FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m. ET and the promotion’s streaming service, UFC Fight Pass, at 6:30 p.m. ET.
The viewership numbers were just slightly below the UFC primetime average for the year of 871,000 viewers. On paper, it looked like a good card, and it delivered a great night of fights that had several notable names featured. The Poirier vs. Pettis main event had the peak audience for the UFC show at 965,000 viewers.
A battle of top bantamweights that saw former World Series of Fighting champion Marlon Moraes beating former Ultimate Fighter winner John Dodson served as the headliner of the preliminary card that pulled in 726,000 viewers. The show also featured UFC prospect Sage Northcutt on the undercard.
As a result of these viewership numbers, it marked the highest rated prelims for a Fight Night on FOX Sports 1 since March. There were also 11,543 viewers streaming the prelims during an average minute.
The pre-fight show did 272,000 viewers while the weigh-ins did 101,000 viewers. What’s interesting is that the post-fight show averaged 369,000 viewers, which made it the third highest after a Fight Night show in history.
Fight fans will not have to wait long for more UFC action as UFC Sydney (Fight Night 121) is set to take place on Saturday, November 18th, 2017 at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia. The main card will air on FOX Sports 1 at 10 p.m. ET. Fabricio Werdum vs. Marcin Tybura in a heavyweight bout will serve as the main event while Jessy Rose-Clark vs. Bec Rawlings in a female flyweight bout will be the co-main event.
