Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Glover Teixeira returned to form earlier tonight (Sat., Dec. 16, 2017) at UFC on FOX 26 from inside Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Canada, when he finished the highly-ranked Misha Cirkunov via first-round TKO.
While Cirkunov pressured the Brazilian against the cage early, it was Teixeira who secured a huge takedown. After failing to sink in a rear-naked choke, Teixeira straightened Cirkunov out and proceeded to blast the Latvian with huge punches to the side of the head. Cirkunov could only cover up and the referee was forced to step in for the knockout stoppage.

With this performance, Teixeira regains some divisional momentum after getting slept by Alexander Gustafsson this past May. Considering the Brazilian’s track record and the shallow division he occupies, Teixeira may only need another top-flight finish like this one to lock down a title shot in 2018.
