It all ended well for UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier last night (Sat., Jan. 20, 2018) at UFC 220 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside TD Garden in Boston, Mass., when he pushed through Volkan Oezdemir’s punching power to claim a memorable second-round TKO finish.
While Volkan started out the fight in fashion by pressing Cormier and tagging him with hard left hands, “DC” ultimately led the way with stronger punches and heavy ground-and-pound. Cormier nearly choked out “No Time” as the first round expired, but carried his momentum over to the second where he dragged Oezdemir to the canvas and finished him via ground-and-pound.

With this performance, Cormier proves yet again that Jon Jones is the only 205-pound fighter on the planet that has the skill set to defeat him. Alexander Gustafsson came awfully close and may get another opportunity to dethrone “DC” by the end of 2018.
