After making an appearance on ION television, using live streams at UFC.com, and yesterday’s announcement that the UFC would stream two prelim bouts on FaceBook for this Saturday’s UFC: Figth for the Troops 2 event, the promotion is heading back to Spike TV for next months UFC 126: Silva vs. Belfort show.
The “UFC Prelims” special, first reported by MMAjunkie.com, will feature two bouts showcasing fights between lightweights Donald Cerrone (13-3) vs. Paul Kelly (11-3) and featherweights Chad Mendes (9-0) vs. Michihiro Omigawa (12-8-1).
The “UFC Prelims” show will begin one hour before the pay-per-view and should begin at 9PM EST (6PM PST).
UFC 126: Silva vs. Belfort will take place on Feb. 5 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and will feature a middleweight title bout between champion Anderson Silva versus challenger Vitor Belfort.
MMAjunkie.com noted that despite the UFC and Spike TV’s long partnership both sides have yet to finalize a broadcast deal for anything past 2011.
