Lightweight veteran Bobby Green will look to continue his 155-pound resurgence when he meets divisional contender Beneil Dariush at UFC 222 on Mar. 3 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada,
The lightweight bout was originally reported by the Orange County Register, which was later confirmed by MMA Fighting.
Dariush, 28, is coming off draw opposite UFC mainstay Evan Dunham. The Iranian lightweight dropped a knockout loss to Edson Barboza before that but still holds key victories over James Vick, Michael Johnson, and Rashid Magomedov. Dariush will be looking to capture his first win since November 2016.
Green, 31, is coming off an impressive unanimous decision win over Erik Koch at UFC on FOX 27. It was Green’s first victory since earning a split-decision nod over Josh Thomson back in 2014. Another victory for “King” over a durable opponent like Dariush could put him back on track to test the top 10 by year’s end.
UFC 222 will be headlined by a featherweight title fight pitting current champion Max Holloway against former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.
