One of the best prospects in the featherweight division will return to action at UFC 223 on April 7 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., as rising youngster Zabit Magomedsharipov tries to continue his UFC takeover against veteran Kyle Bochniak , per a recent Instagram post (shown below) by the Russian himself.
UFC has yet to make any official announcement.
Magomedsharipov, 26, has destroyed both of his UFC competitors to date en route to claiming two Performance of the Night submission victories. The talented Russian fighter is 14-1 overall and clearly has had no trouble carrying over his success as the Absolute Championship Berkut (ACB) featherweight champion into the Octagon. Another finish for “ZaBeast” should land him in the top 15 at 145 pounds.
Bochniak, 31, is coming off an impressive unanimous decision win over prospect Brandon Davis at UFC 220 last month. The Boston native has turned in a 2-2 record since his UFC arrival back in 2016 and could finally cash in on his own potential should he upset Magomedsharipov in Brooklyn this April.
UFC 223 will be headlined by a lightweight title fight pitting current interim champion Tony Ferguson against undefeated Russian contender Khabib Nurmagomedov. A rematch between UFC women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas and former titleholder Joanna Jedrzejczyk will serve as the co-main event.
