MMA fighters and personalities took to social media to react to Conor McGregor’s bus attack and subsequent arrest.
As you may have heard, Conor McGregor has managed to turn a simple UFC 223 media day into a chaotic scene. The Irishman, along with his friends and teammates, stormed the arena, attacking a bus that was holding Khabib Nurmagomedov and the entire red corner for UFC 223. This eventually led to cuts, injuries, and three fights being called off, along with McGregor being in police custody and facing multiple charges.
Social media has been abuzz as the story developed, with Nate Diaz seemingly siding, at least partly, with McGregor, UFC executive Reed Harris tweeting about how he thought he was going to die, Colby Covington offering to be a bounty hunter, and Jim Miller writing a hilarious song about McGregor, cocaine, and the whole incident.
Apart from those, there’s a whole lot of other noteworthy reactions from other fighters and UFC personalities alike.
Khabib’s teammate Daniel Cormier reacted to the attack, asking for an unorthodox punishment and dispelling some rumors at the same time.
Ground plane…..
Take in custody….
Escort to arena on Saturday night to make him fight Khabib…..
That’s true punishment!— Daniel Cormier (@dc_mma) April 5, 2018
I keep hearing @TeamKhabib whole team was on this bus. I know for a fact that it was only Khabib and Ali on this bus with the rest of the red corner fighters. It would have been much , much worse if his whole team was on the bus.
— Daniel Cormier (@dc_mma) April 5, 2018
I can’t imagine a bus full of Russians would’ve stayed on the bus. Anyone around the scene knows that it’s fighter + 1 to all media stuff. No chance any of them were on that bus.

While the rest of the fighters seem disgusted by McGregor’s actions:
Dana hit the nail on the head what kind of example is this to any kid, especially with a country that is now so invested in the sport. What a disgrace https://t.co/OVnnnsBDaA

Connor McGregor: arrest him, sue him, suspend him, ban him, fire him. Put him out of business.
Let’s not support or aid to someone acting like a five year old with absolutely zero discipline and guidance.

I wonder what Jesse Taylor feels about this? He lost 10 yrs of his ufc career for something less severe than this where no one was harmed
— James Vick (@JamesVickMMA) April 6, 2018
— Stipe Miocic (@stipemiocic) April 6, 2018
A decision was made by the New York State Athletic Commission to pull me from UFC 223. I’m devastated to say the least. @Showtimepettis I hope to run this match up ASAP, June 9th in your backyard. That’s all I have to say for now. Much love.

You have a responsibility to press charges. Imagine you lose your vision permanently
— #UFC222 CyborgNation (@criscyborg) April 6, 2018
PPVs / big fights generate several millions . Conor could get sued for messing up the whole show as well as fighters could sue. Could be broke after it if they wanted because of his actions! https://t.co/crKom6YGtl
— Derek Brunson (@DerekBrunson) April 6, 2018
Not so funny anymore. Conor use to owe the ufc, now the ufc will own him … talking about leverage !!! https://t.co/8SMo5p4qbh
— Derek Brunson (@DerekBrunson) April 6, 2018
Forget you dude! Innocent bystanders , and UFC officials and staff I personally know and work with were put in a real danger today and some sent to hospital with real injuries! All because some thug! Forget you ! and your dumbass justification for this kind of behavior! https://t.co/8eZa4PgGmd

Damn i was really looking forward to that @tazmexufc vs @theassassinbaby matchup! Hopefully Borg is good and they can rebook it sometime soon. Really hope everyone affected by the BS today is being compensated!!
— Shane Burgos (@HurricaneShaneB) April 6, 2018
For someone talking about how much money he wants to fight again, showing up and trying to scrap for free seems like a poor business move. Especially if your license is revoked in the process… or is that a part of the plan?
— Dan Hardy (@danhardymma) April 5, 2018
Acting like that doesn’t put him in a position were he fights Khabib. It potentially puts him in a situation where he can’t. https://t.co/DfDGcRPOps
— Dan Hardy (@danhardymma) April 5, 2018
Exactly. If he wanted to, he could have. Hell… I can’t imagine many people would want to come back when the options are Khabib, Holloway or Ferguson. “…erm… I’ll stay over here… ” https://t.co/1Q3qFqIkrf
— Dan Hardy (@danhardymma) April 5, 2018
I’m sorry but if I were artem I’d be fucking pissed. The fact that Conor has to “stand up” for him makes him look weak. Also he got kicked off the card. But I guess he’s a good friend ??? https://t.co/FM5zPmfr9l

Can MMA have one week where it’s not a complete fucking circus?

There were a couple ppl unfortunately injured and sent to hospital because of some Irish thugs in New York! I hope all the amazing security staff at @Ufc and co workers are healthy and recover well. This type of behavior is disgraceful. My hats off to the staff! They are amazing!

I am not defending @TheNotoriousMMA or his actions but that behavior seems drug or alcohol induced and I hope he gets the help he needs, feels and expresses remorse, makes amends, and signs an authorization card https://t.co/2ge9mLExJX

2 ways to make a lot of money in the UFC:
A.) Be a scumbag (Connor McGregor)
B.) Sue a scumbag (Connor McGregor) for attacking you like a maniac
— Patrick Cummins (@OfficialDurkin) April 5, 2018
Disgusting. We need to rid the sport of fools like this. Back to being a plumbers apprentice you go!
— Ricardo Lamas (@RicardoLamasMMA) April 5, 2018

This is what happens when you only promote people that spread negativity to sell fights. Want respectful behaviour? Promote respectful martial artists. #MICDrop #ufc223mediaday
