The California State Athletic Commission released the fighter salaries today for this past weekends Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg event.
The total payroll equaled $463,500 for the San Jose, Calif. event which took place at the HP Pavilion, with Strikeforce title holders Nick Diaz ($150,000) and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza ($85,000) earning the biggest fighter payouts.
The fighter payroll was posted by MMAjunkie.com on Monday afternoon.
One of the big names, not because of his fame as an mma fighter but as a former NFL football star, Herschel Walker earned $5,000, no win bonus, for his victory over Scott Carson ($5,000) on the evenings Showtime televised card. It is very likely that Walker and Strikeforce have some other agreement outside of the cage for compensation.
