On a pay-per-view card with only two finishes, one by submission and one by technical knockout, it’s a pretty easy guess which fighters earned two of the three UFC 161: Evans vs. Henderson “Fight Night” bonuses. The only question was who would earn the third.

At the post-fight press conference UFC president Dana White awarded the “Knockout of the Night” to Shawn Jordan, while James Krause earned “Submission of the Night” and “Fight of the Night” for his victory over San Stout.

Each fighter earned $50,000 for each bonus giving Krause an extra $100,000 after Saturday night.

UFC 161: Evans vs. Henderson took place on June 15, 2013 at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with the main event airing on pay-per-view, while the prelim card was split between FX television and streaming video on the web.

The event drew a reported attendance of 14,474 fans into the MTS Centre for a live gate of $3.15 million.

Jordon needed 59-seconds to finish his friend Pat Barry by TKO, landing with a couple of rights sending ‘HD’ to the mat. ‘The Savage’ pounced quickly raining down right hands to Barry’s head as he tried to cover up. The referee was forced to jump in to stop the action.

Krause stepped in as a late replacement against Octagon vet Stout. Using his advantage in reach Krause mixed things up with kicks and punches to score from the outside. A head-kick opened up a big cut on Stout’s head leaving the two bloodied up whenever they clinched. In the final round the two locked up in the remaining seconds as Stout tried valiantly to finish he was caught in an arm-in guillotine and was unable to escape. The end came with just 13-seconds left in the fight giving Krause his first win inside the Octagon.

The promotions first trip to Santa Catarina drew an announced attendance of 7,642 into the Arena Jaraguá.

Rather than re-inventing the wheel, here is the UFC.com “bonus recap.”

To the surprise of nobody, headliner Vitor Belfort took home Knockout of the Night for his first-round finish of Luke Rockhold. After engaging in several back-and-forth exchanges early in the round, “The Phenom” landed a spinning back kick to Rockhold’s jaw, sending the former Strikeforce middleweight champion crashing to the mat. Belfort followed up with punches on the ground before the referee stepped in. Belfort has now won two straight bouts by way of head kick.

The bonus for Belfort was his second straight “KOTN” bonus following his second round TKO finish of Michael Bisping last January in the main event of UFC on FX 7.

Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza earned Submission of the Night for submitting Chris Camozzi in the co-main event. The former Strikeforce champ took Camozzi to the ground early in the first round, then showed off his formidable grappling skills with an arm triangle choke that put the TUF vet to sleep within seconds.

The win for Souza was his fourth straight victory, all by finishes, improving his record under the Strikeforce banner and in the UFC to 8-1 with a decision loss to Luke Rockhold for the Strikeforce middleweight title.

Fight of the Night went to show openers Lucas Martins and Jeremy Larsen. The lightweight fighters put on an exciting, back-and-forth brawl that saw both men staggered and bloodied. Martins ultimately won via third-round knockout.

The bout between Martins and Larsen was the second Octagon match for both men, with Martins improving to 1-1 and Larsen falling to 0-2.

White announced an attendance of 13,506 for a live gate of $1.333

‘The Punk’ Thomson made a successful return to the Octagon with a second round TKO finish of Nate Diaz, becoming the first fighter to do so. Thomson finished things with a head-kick, after landing two in the previous round, stumbling Diaz and following him to the mat with more punches. Diaz corner threw in the towel but the referee had already jumped in to stop the bout for an official finish at 3:44.

Romero opened the UFC event versus Clifford Starks using a flying knee to end things with a knockout at 92-seconds of the first round. The bout marked his first fight since September 2011 when he lost his Strikeforce debut competing at light heavyweight. Welterweights Brown and Mein fought in the opening FOX telecast for the main card. The two would battle back and forth in the first round with each man looking as if they could finish the other. Into the second and it was Brown who land with a pair of knees to put Mein down on the mat. Brown then followed up with punches to the head and body to finish things by TKO at 1:00 of the second.
