Surging welterweight contender Santiago Ponzinibbio extended his current win streak to seven last night (Sat., Nov. 17, 2018) at UFC Fight Night 140 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Parque Roca Arena in Buenos Aires, Argentina, when he put an end to veteran Neil Magny via fourth-round knockout.
Ponzinibbio had his way with Magny from the opening bell. The Argentina native utilized a stiff lead jab to hurt Magny’s eye in the very first round. He followed that up with vicious leg kicks that instantly hobbled Magny. Once Magny was immobilized in the later rounds Ponzinibbio took advantage of his power right and laid waste to his welterweight counterpart with one final blow.

This win is a pretty big one for Ponzinibbio. It was his second headlining bout of the last 16 months and “Gente Boa” produced another highlight reel finish. The fact that it happened on home soil is just icing on the cake.
With a bunch of worthy title contenders crowding the 170-pound division, Ponzinibbio may still need a few more wins to lock down his first UFC title shot. But this is a tremendous way to close out 2018, especially since Ponzinibbio hadn’t fought in Argentina since 2010.
